Friday 21 July 1pm – 4pm
Cost: £6/£5 W&BA members
This linear town walk reveals the overlooked street art that Lowestoft visitors and residents take for granted. It delves into lost artistic businesses, such as East Anglia’s only porcelain factory. Passing the still-thriving artists’ brush factory we will find out why it is located in Lowestoft. We’ll learn more about the town’s theatrical heritage and then visit artist Mark Burrell’s studio to view his dream-like paintings of the town’s now lost beach village (though a few houses remain in one of the ancient Scores). The walk ends with tea and cakes at a vintage tea room in the historic High Street.
Meet at Suffolk Records Office, upstairs in Lowestoft Central Library (Clapham Road South, Lowestoft NR32 1DR)
Short town walk. Allow 3-4 hours duration when paying for car parks.
