Sunday 9 July 2pm-5pm
Cost £6/£5 W&BA members + £4.50 per person entrance fee to Redisham Hall
To coincide with Redisham Hall Open Gardens, leaders Chris Reeve and Ivan Crane will guide walkers from the Hall across fields towards Suffolk’s smallest church. Once there, we will hear tales of writer and countryman Adrian Bell, who farmed near the village. Suffolk Poetry Society members will read poems from a booklet written by Land Army girls, two of whom were based on Bell’s farm. There will be a special guest reading by Land Army veteran Angela Ottaway. Stories will be told of conscientious objectors who worked the land. Find out how the Bloomsbury Set connects them all. Return by foot to the Hall where there will be tea and cake for sale.
Meet at Redisham Hall Open Day car park, Nr Beccles, NR34 8LZ
Total distance 5 miles. Tea & cake extra.
